UGM Attack Banks, Police Stations in Osun
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that unknown gunmen have carried out attacks on two commercial banks and police stations in Apomu and Ikire town in Osun State.
The spokesperson of Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, said that commercial bank in Apomu, a police station in Ikire, as well as Ikire Area Command of the police were touched by the gunmen.
The police couldn’t give the exact casualty figures but eye witness account revealed that many people were shot dead by the gunmen.
This online news medium gathered that the gunmen were said to have entered Apomu and Ikire through Ikoyi town and divided themselves into different groups before they launched attack on the police stations and the affected banks.
According to another resident of Ikire, simply identified as Oloruntoyin, the robbers attacked a bank near Akire’s palace, as well as Ayedaade Police Station.
He said the gunmen later left the town and fled after some local hunters and police operatives engaged them in a gunfight.
