Tinubu under investigation - EFCC Chairman Bawa
The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa, has intimated that the commission is now investigating Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress’s National Leader.
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Bawa stated that the investigation will take time because it is a time-consuming process.
The EFCC’s chief confirmed to ThisDay that Tinubu’s assets declaration form has been requested.
“You asked me a question about arresting people before an investigation, and now you’re asking why we didn’t arrest Tinubu?” Bawa says.
Why didn’t you simply say, “arrest him?”
“Do you get it?” You’re well aware that you’re a member of the press. After that, you’ll say something like, “We’re undertaking a media trial.”
Abubakar Malami, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, recently dismissed plans to investigate Tinubu.
