11 People Killed 22 Injured as 2 Buses Collided In Osun State.

Iexclusive News Nigeria reports that 11 people killed while 22 were injured in a deadly car accident on the Gbangan-Ibadan road in Osun State.

The collision happened on Friday night near the Ayedaade local government Secretariat, according to Agnes Ogungbemi, spokesperson for the Federal Road Safety Corps in Osun state.

 

A head-on collision occurred between two commercial buses, a white Mazda E2000 with registration number KJA392YA and a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number GWL427YM.

The bodies of ten dead victims were taken to the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospital mortuary, while the body of the other victim was carried away by the family, according to Ogungbemi.

 

She went on to say that 16 of the 22 injured people were brought to Gbongan’s Ariremako Hospital, while the remaining six were taken to Osogbo’s central hospital, whose ambulance was on the scene for the rescue effort.

 

“After the medical doctor of Ariremako hospital called for their assistance after being rejected at Divine mercy hospital, Gbongan, 16 injured victims were taken to Ariremako hospital Gbongan, and 6 other injured victims were taken by Central Hospital, Osogbo Ambulance to their hospital by Central Hospital, Osogbo Ambulance.

 

“After a call was made to the Ife sector rescue team, ten corpses were brought to OAUTH Ile Ife mortuary, while the remaining one corpse was taken by the insisted relatives who are from the Hausa community in Lagos,” she added.
