Chidinma Adaora: Why I stabbed Super TV CEO, Ataga, to death

Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu, a 21-year-old University of Lagos 300-level female student, informed newsmen in Lagos on Thursday that she stabbed Super TV CEO Michael Ataga to death in self-defense.

According to iexclusive News Nigeria, Chidinma Adaora said this when she was presented to the command headquarters by Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hakeem Odumosu.

 

According to the report monitored on Nigerian News Agency, Ataga’s lifeless body was discovered on June 16 at a flat in Lekki Phase 1, Lagos, with several wounds.

 

Chidinma Adaora Ojukwu stated she met Ataga approximately five months ago and was arrested at her home in Alagomeji, Yaba, where she lives with her parents.

 

“On June 13, he requested that I find a location for us to stay. I looked it up on the internet and forwarded it to him; he requested me to go look at it, which I did and paid for.

 

“On Monday, June 14, we were drinking and smoking together, and I went to get some food as well. 

 

Chidinma Adaora stated that He was making overtures toward me on Tuesday, June 15, and she resisted, so he grew violent and eventually had his way.

 

“In the afternoon, he ordered smoke, ate, and we got high because I smoked with him as well, despite the fact that I was still mad at him for the first one he did.

 

“So there I was, alone on the couch, watching a movie. He approached me again, and I declined since I was dissatisfied with him. 

 

“I told him he doesn’t help me and only plays games with me, and he kept attempting to make approaches while I resisted, so I had to protect myself.

 

“At one point, he slammed my head against the wall and choked me. I attempted to flee, but the door was shut, so he drew me back.

 

“I took a knife from the kitchen and stabbed him in the neck twice before throwing the knife on the bed.

 

“When he reached for the knife, I snatched it up and stabbed him for the third time,” she explained.

 

“Chidinma claimed she only took N380,000 out of Ataga’s account after she fled, not N5 million.

 

“The student hurriedly changed her clothes and left the appartment,” Odumosu told to reporters.

 

“On Wednesday, June 16, when it was time to clean the apartment, Ataga’s body was discovered in a pool of blood, and the door had to be broken,” Odumosu stated.

 

“The suspect left with the victim’s Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card, which was used to withdraw money from his account, according to Odumosu.

 

“The commissioner of police stated that he felt it was vital to inform the public on the investigation, adding that false rumors about the incident had circulated.

 

“Odumosu also asked the public to use social media for good rather than for spreading false information.

 

Checks at his Victoria Island office revealed he was not there, causing concern among his colleagues, including his wife and children in Abuja.

 

Ataga was first reported missing by anxious friends and family after all attempts to contact him proved futile, until his body was discovered later, according to this online news outlet.
