Yoruba Nation Rally: How ‘Police Shot A Teenager’ In Lagos

 

A young girl was killed in Lagos after police opened fire on protesters calling for the independence of the Yoruba Nation.

 

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that President Muhammadu Buhari, his security chiefs, and ministers have repeatedly warned that separatist agitations will be confronted with harsh action.

 

On Friday, national security adviser Babagana Monguno announced that the president had authorized a list of those who would be targeted for secessionist actions.

 

Southern Nigerians, led by the two major tribes Yoruba and Igbo, have stepped up their push to secede from Nigeria in the aftermath of extensive charges of corruption, targeted killings, and genocide by the Buhari govt.

 

Mr. Buhari denied that his government is corrupt and that his appointments do not favor his northern Fulani people.

 

On Saturday, as Yoruba nation protests raged around Lagos, police shot live rounds to disperse crowds in Ojota, killing a young lady and injuring several others. 

Sahara Reporters tweeted a photo of a demonstrator slain by police gunshots on Saturday afternoon.

 

When she was killed, the young woman looked to be in her trading shop. 

 

According to social media sources, girl was just 14 years old. It was not immediately clear where the shooting took place.

 

A police spokeswoman in Lagos did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
