Breaking: GTBank Named Miriam Olusanya As First Female Managing Director.

Iexclusive News Nigeria reports that this was revealed in a note to the Nigerian Exchange Group Limited written by the company’s secretary, Erhi Obebeduo (NGX).

Segun Agbaje is succeeded by Miriam Olusanya, the bank’s first female Managing Director.

Agbaje revealed that GTBank was looking for a new Managing Director during the bank’s investor earnings in September.

Five of the bank’s Executive Directors, he claimed, were in line for the top job and were nearing the end of the hiring process.

Olusanya was an Executive Director at the bank prior to her appointment.

Miriam Olusanya has over 20 years of banking expertise in Transaction Services, Asset and Liability Management, Financial Markets, Corporate Finance, and Investor Relations, among other areas.

She began her career with GTbank as an Executive Trainee and worked her way up to General Manager before being named Executive Director.

The bank also stated that its reorganization into a Holding Company Structure was completed successfully, enhancing its long-term competitiveness and growth potential.

The banking behemoth announced the formation of a new operating company called ‘Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc’ (GTCo) as part of the reorganization conditions.

A new Board of Directors was also announced, as well as changes to the Board of Directors of its banking subsidiary (GTBank).
