Joe Igbokwe Opposes Biafra, Demands Additional South-East State
Joe Igbokwe, an All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, has spoken out against the Biafra movement.

He encouraged the Federal Government, on the other hand, to establish a new state in the South-East.

Igbokwe said in an interview with BBC News Pidgin that the Igbos have married and made friends with individuals from all across Nigeria.
“Some had Igbo mothers and Hausa dads. For centuries, there have been interethnic partnerships.
“The only thing I want from the federal government is the establishment of a new state in the South-East. This is something I have been promoting.
“We will have six governors, more senators and representatives in the House of Representatives, a State Assembly, a state capital, a university, take-off funds, and additional local governments.
“So many issues will arise. 12,000 employment would be generated immediately as a result of the zone’s rapid growth,” Igbokwe said.
