Seven Nigerian Navy officers have been kidnapped in Edo State.
The Naval Officers were kidnapped while traveling from Kaduna to Delta.
On the Sapele-Warri route, personnel from a Naval Base in Kaduna state are alleged to have been kidnapped.
According to a source, they were on their way to Navy Engineering College in Sapele, Delta State.
According to reports gathered by iexclusive News Nigeria, five of the policemen were rescued by officers from the Edo State Command, while two others remain missing.
SP. Kotongs Bello, a spokeswoman for the State Command, acknowledged the story but did not elaborate.
“We saved five people, and two more are still waiting to be rescued. That’s the only one I’m aware of,” he explained.
Nigeria is now experiencing a high degree of insecurity, with security personnel not being spared.
