Joey Jordison Former Slipknot Drummer Dies at 46

Joey Jordison, a founding member of the heavy metal band Slipknot, died on July 26 in his sleep.

Following the artist’s death, Joey Jordison’s family is in grief.

In a statement received by E! News, those closest to the former Slipknot drummer revealed his death.

The letter stated, “We are sad to relay the news that Joey Jordison, prolific drummer, musician, and artist, died away quietly in his sleep on July 26th, 2021.” “He was 46 years old.”

“Joey’s passing left us with empty hearts and emotions of unfathomable sadness,” his family concluded.

Joey’s quick wit, kind nature, huge heart, and passion for all things family and music were well known to all who knew him.

In the aftermath of Joey’s death, his family begged for “privacy and peace” from “friends, admirers, and the media.”

“The family will have a private burial ceremony and begs the media and public to respect their wishes,” the statement added.

On social media, fans expressed their affection for the late singer.

Joey was a member of the Murderdolls, Scar the Martyr, Vimic, and Sinsaenum in addition to Slipknot, which he was a member of from 1995 until 2013.

Amanda Victoria, Joey’s girlfriend at the time of his death, had remained silent regarding his death.

While Joey was not a frequent social media user, he did wish his supporters the “happiest of holidays” in a message he posted on Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2018.

On the 21st anniversary of Slipknot’s self-titled first album, Joey reflected on his Slipknot history on June 29, 2020:

“It’s almost impossible to realize how quickly these years have passed,” he wrote.

“That record brought up a lot of great memories for me, and it will continue to do so in the future. Nothing compares to it in terms of what it accomplished for all of us and the Metal community. It fulfilled all of our aspirations, and the international outpouring from fans nearly brought arenas and stadiums to their knees.”
