The United Kingdom Offers Consular Aid To Nnamdi Kanu

Catriona Laing, the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, has spoken out about Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the British Commission has given Kanu consular help, according to Laing.

On Tuesday, the British High Commissioner made an appearance on Arise Television.

”On Nnamdi Kanu, all I can say is that we are on record as stating we can give consular support to British people if they want it,” Laing said. In this interview, I’m just prepared to state that.

”I haven’t mentioned his trial in any way. We have stated on record that we will do everything possible and that we will provide consular support, which we have done in this situation for Nnamdi Kanu.”

Kanu was just re-arrested and returned from an African nation that was not named.

Kanu was remanded in detention of the Department of State Services (DSS) upon his return.

Justice Binta Nyako of the Abuja Federal High Court issued the ruling.

During Monday’s resumed hearings, the DSS failed to produce the IPOB leader Nnamdi Kanu in court due to logistical problems.
