iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the quake’s epicenter was roughly 125 kilometers (78 miles) west of Port-au-Prince, according to the US Geological Survey, and considerable damage has been observed.

According to Jerry Chandler, Haiti’s head of civil protection, the dead toll has risen to 29, and search-and-rescue teams have been dispatched to the region.

As Haiti grapples with the virus and a lack of resources to combat it, reports of overburdened hospitals have emerged.

Last month, the 11-million-strong country received its first supply of coronavirus vaccines, which were provided by the United States under a United Nations initiative for low-income countries.
