Man 44 Docked For Sexually Assaulting His 2 Daughters
On Wednesday, an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court ruled that Anthony Odita, a 44-year-old merchant, be detained in a correctional facility for allegedly sexually abusing his two children.
Odita, who lives in Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos State, was charged with sexual assault by the police.
Odita was ordered to be remanded in Kirikri Correctional Centre by Magistrate O.A Layinka, who did not accept his plea.
Layinka, on the other hand, ordered the police to send the case file to the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) for consultation.
She postponed the case until December 6 to await the recommendation of the DPP.
Odita committed the offense in July at his home, according to the Prosecution Counsel, Insp Lucky Ihiehie.
The defendant sexually abused his two kids, ages 12 and 9, he said.
He said the offense was in violation of Sections 261 of the Lagos State Criminal Law of 2015.
