Olajide Sowore, the younger brother of Sahara Reporters editor Omoyele Sowore, was killed by gunmen presumed to be herdsmen, according to Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom.

online news outlet, Gov. Ortom noted in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Terver Akase, that the horrible murder of Olajide exemplifies the country’s deteriorating security condition.
The Governor expressed his hope that those responsible for the young man’s murder will be apprehended by security forces.
During a press conference on Sunday, the Edo State Police Command stated that they were combing the forest for the deceased’s killers.
Governor Ortom asked that God grant Olajide Sowore’s soul eternal rest and his family the strength to face the sadness of his death.
