1. Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has ordered the immediate enforcement of State Value Added Tax Law 2021 across the entire state, following the failure of the Muhammadu Buhari regime to secure a stay-of-execution order against the state. In a live broadcast on Monday in Port Harcourt, Mr Wike directed corporate bodies, business entities, and individuals within its territory to comply with the state’s tax law or “face the full weight of the stipulated sanctions, including having their business premises sealed-up.”

2. President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday appointed Dr. Ifedayo Morayo Adetifa as the new Director-General of Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC). Buhari’s Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu confirmed the appointment in a statement on Monday.

3. The Police in Jigawa State have arrested 19 suspected kidnappers of a traditional leader in Taura Local Government Area of the state. Police Spokesman in the state, ASP Lawan Shiisu Adam, confirmed the arrest of the suspects after a successful operation in the area.

4. Kaduna State Governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has urged the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to stop giving “preferential scores” to students in Northern Nigeria who sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
