How Catholic Priest Was Abducted, 11 Murdered In Kaduna

 

A Catholic Priest has been kidnapped in Kaduna state’s Ikulu Chiefdom of Zangon Kataf local government area.

 

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the gunmen stormed the priest’s home, Rev. Fr Luka Benson’s, around 7:30 p.m. on Monday, according to a resident, Samuel Kukah, who confirmed the attack.

 

This online news outlets gathered that attempts to contact ASP Mohammed Jalige, the Kaduna Police Public Relations Officer, were unsuccessful since he did not answer calls or react to text messages provided to him.

 

Meanwhile, gunmen attacked Apiye Jim hamlet in Atyap chiefdom, still in Kaduna’s Zango-Kataf LGA, murdering 11 people.

 

According to a source, the attack took place on Sunday evening.

 

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that neither the state government nor the state Police Command have confirmed the incident, Mr. Luka Binniyat, a spokesperson for the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU), confirmed it to our correspondent.

 

“It is definitely true,” Binniyat stated. They also killed another man at Atakshusho hamlet, roughly three kilometers from the original crime scene, as they were fleeing.

“No one has been apprehended, as is customary. We’re waiting for more information about the killings before making a statement.”

 

Many of the locals were still missing after the attack on Monday, according to a source, but no fewer than 11 lifeless bodies had been discovered so far.

 

According to him, the attackers arrived in huge groups and carried out the attack in a flash.

 

“They (assailants) came while it was raining and separated themselves into groups,” he continued. 

 

They went after particular properties and then departed right away.

 

“At the moment, a large number of villagers are missing. It’s impossible to know how many people have been hurt or murdered; however, I’ve tallied and discovered 11 dead people in various locations.”
