BREAKING: Terrorists Ambush Nigerian Army Convoy, Kills 12 Soldiers, Carts Away Millions

On Thursday morning, terrorists ambushed a convoy of armed soldiers traveling between Monguno and Maiduguri, according to the reports monitored by iexclusive News Nigeria on Peoples Gazette.

iexclusive News Nigeria gathered that Insurgents from Boko Haram ambushed a Nigerian Army convoy in Borno on Thursday, killing at least 12 troops and stealing cash and weapons.

This online news outlet learnt that the Gazette was unable to learn the troops’ identities right once, and a spokesman for the Nigerian Army was unavailable to comment on the incident.

The remains of two officers and ten troops who died in the unexpected gun duel were discovered by the Gazette. The dead were loaded into pickup trucks and sent to a medical facility in Maiduguri.

According to sources and photos provided with The Gazette, several soldiers were wounded and received first assistance near the location of the incident.

Three gun trucks and firearms confiscated from the military, as well as millions of naira in cash, were purportedly taken by the insurgents.

The amount was not immediately confirmed by the Gazette. However, violent criminals attacking an armed military convoy and stealing cash and weapons is not uncommon.

Armed bandits ambushed a military convoy in Benue in April, dislodging troops and taking away N28 million in cash and weapons, according to military sources at the time.

The problem will be investigated, according to an army official, but no results had been made public five months later.

The incident occurred as the military stepped up its efforts to reintegrate terrorists into society, claiming that Boko Haram members surrendered after acknowledging the state’s triumph in the decade-long conflict.
