The Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande has facilitated a Digital Nigeria Centre (DNC) for Government College, Ibadan.
Iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that the DNC is a federal government programme to improve learning and research by promoting the connection of government schools across Nigeria to broadband.
The programe includes the provision of desktops, teacher laptops, refurnishment of ICT lab including electrical, mechanical and civil works, furniture for the ICT lab, providing of learning software, internet access, solar energy and one year technical and mentainance support to beneficiary schools.
The programme is managed by the Universal Service Provider Fund (USPF), an arm of the NCC, established primarily to facilitate the achievement of national policy goals for universal access and universal service to Information and Communication Technologies in rural, unnserved and undeserved areas in Nigeria.
