1. The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday gave the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government conditions for dialogue. IPOB’s spokesman, Emma Powerful said the group would listen to the Federal Government when its leader, Nnamdi Kanu is released unconditionally.

2. There was tension around the palace of Eze Aro in Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State, on Thursday, as soldiers and militants of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) exchanged gunfire. Sources confirmed that five members of the group fell to the superior firepower of the military.

3. President Muhammadu Buhari has directed the Armed Forces and other security agencies to ensure that nothing stops the November 6 governorship election in Anambra State. The National Security Adviser (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno (rtd), announced this to State House correspondents at the end of Thursday’s security meeting chaired by the president.

4. A soldier has been murdered in Etekuru, Ohaji Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State. The incident came two weeks after soldiers razed down houses in Izombe in the Oguta Local Government Area of the state following the killing of two soldiers.

5. The Nigeria Railway Corporation has suspended train services along the Abuja-Kaduna route. The corporation took the decision after the vandalisation of its rail track. In a statement on its website on Thursday, NRC said services had been suspended on Abuja-Kaduna route for the safety of passengers and crew members.

6. Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, on Thursday lost his bid to be moved to the Kuje Correctional Centre. Kanu who resumed his trial at the Federal High Court Abuja yesterday, requested to be moved from the DSS facility to Kuje Correctional Centre but his application was rejected by Justice Binta Nyako.

7. Hoodlums on Thursday night set on fire the Isiala Mbano Local Government Area Divisional Police Headquarters in Imo state, situated at Umuelemai. The gun-carrying hoodlums who set suspects free, were said to have stormed the station amid a heavy downpour.
