1. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has reportedly confiscated the passport of a popular socialite and businessman, Obinna Iyiegbu, aka Obi Cubana, who was arrested on Monday for alleged money laundering and tax fraud. It was gathered that the seizure of his travel document was to prevent him from leaving the country while under investigation.

2. Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmood Yakubu, has assured the people of Anambra State that the November 6 Governorship election will hold as scheduled. He stated this during the Inter Agency Consultative Forum held at the INEC headquarters in Awka, the state capital, on Tuesday.

3. No fewer than 9 persons were killed in an attack on Fulani settlements in Mashegu Local Government Area of Niger State on Tuesday. The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the attack, adding that the command had deployed tactical team to search for those behind the attack.

4. At least, 60 worshippers were reportedly abducted when bandits raided Emmanuel Baptist Church located in Kakau Daji in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The Christian Association of Nigeria ( CAN), Kaduna chapter ‎Chairman, Reverend John Hayab, confirmed the attack yesterday.

5. The University of Abuja chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) yesterday, confirmed the abduction of two professors and other members of staff from the staff quarters of the institution Tuesday morning. The ASUU chairman, UNIABUJA, Dr Kassim Umaru who confirmed the incident, said that the institution is working towards rescuing the victims.

6. No fewer than 20 people have been confirmed dead in the 21-storey building that collapsed on Monday on Gerrard Road, in the Ikoyi area of Lagos State. The South-West Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency, Ibrahim Farinloye, on Tuesday, said a total of 20 bodies, including that of Osibona’s personal assistant, had been recovered.

7. The Body of Senior Advocates of Nigeria, BoSAN, on Tuesday, stormed the office of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami, SAN, to register their displeasure over last Friday’s invasion of the home of Justice Mary Odili of the Supreme Court by yet to be identified security agents.
