Prophet Arrested For Raping 8-Month Pregnant Woman In Ondo
Festus James, a prophet in Ondo state, was arrested for reportedly rapping an eight-month-old pregnant lady at Agbabu village via Ore, in the Odigbo council area of the state.
Funmi Odunlami, the state police command’s spokeswoman, claimed the prophet, who had traveled from Ibadan for a three-day revival, had allegedly raped the 22-year-old woman under the pretence of performing deliverance on her.
“On November 13, 2021, a man named Festus James’m’ from Ibadan, Oyo State, traveled to Agbabu village via Ore, claiming to be a Prophet and claiming that the Holy Spirit commanded him to hold a three-day Holy Ghost Revival in a local church.
The prophet said the next day that he had seen a vision about a 22-year-old woman who was 8 months pregnant and told her to stay behind after the program.
She had carnal knowledge of the pregnant lady and took her into one of the mission house’s rooms under the pretence of rescuing her from an evil spirit.
The suspect admitted to committing the crime.”
The suspect admitted to having sex with the woman when questioned.
“I had no idea what came over me when I committed the wicked act.”
The suspect will be charged in court as soon as feasible, according to a police spokesperson.
