Michael Owen believes Bayern Munich or one of the Premier League’s big three clubs, Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City, will win the Champions League this season, and that it’s difficult to see anyone else winning it.

Chelsea won the Champions League the previous season.

Thomas Tuchel’s team won the Europa League by defeating Manchester City 1-0 in the final.

“It’s difficult to see beyond them [Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City].” For me, it’s either Bayern [Munich] or an English team that will win the Champions League,” Michael Owen told BT Sport.

“It’s incredible, 18 points out of 18 against clubs of that reputation, they’re still good teams,” Michael Owen continued, reflecting on Liverpool’s impressive Champions League form so far this season. Milan are the best team in Italy.

“They’re playing as brilliantly as they did when they won the league, but there are two other terrific English clubs to contend with.” He’ll be buzzing [Jurgen] Klopp, since the team is on fire.”

Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich have all qualified for the Champions League round of 16 thus far.
