BREAKING: Buhari signs Electoral Amendment Bill into law

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the Electoral Act Amendment Bill 2021 into law.

On Friday about 12:30 p.m., the signing ceremony took place within the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, and the President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan, were among those present when the President signed the bill.

The president’s approval comes only days after a coalition of civil society organizations staged a protest demanding that he sign the modified constitution.
