Donald Glover Hires Malia Obama To Write For His New Show

Donald Glover has confirmed that he’s hired Malia Obama as a writer on his forthcoming Amazon series, tentatively titled “Hive.”

iexclusivenews reports that Glover, 38, confirmed the news in an interview with Vanity Fair on Friday.

Insisting that the former first daughter, 23, wasn’t a beneficiary of nepotism.

“She’s just, like, an amazingly talented person,” Glover cooed off Malia. “She’s focused, and she’s working hard.”

While most struggling screenwriters toil away for years attempting to break into Hollywood.

Malia, who only graduated from Harvard last year, has had a fairly quick rise.

Before Harvey Weinstein was charged with rape and other crimes.

The wunderkind interned on Lena Dunham’s HBO series “Girls” in 2015 and at the Weinstein Company in 2017.

Glover’s brother, Stephen, 31, is also working on the upcoming Amazon series.

“I feel like she’s just somebody who’s gonna have really good things coming soon,”

Stephen similarly fawned over Malia’s abilities while speaking to Vanity Fair.

He went on to say, “Her writing style is fantastic.” “Donald often believes that viewpoint is vital and that a writers’ room needs people with varied perspectives. And, without a doubt, she has a distinct viewpoint on things.”

The series’ plot hasn’t been revealed yet. Last month, though, Insider speculated that the show could be centered on a “‘Beyoncé-like persona.”

Malia’s new job isn’t the Obamas’ first excursion into the television industry.

Barack and Michelle Obama signed an agreement with Netflix in 2018 that is estimated to be worth $50 million.
