JUST IN: Osun Decides: Adeleke unseats Governor Oyetola
Adeleke Sacked By Tribunal, Replaced by Oyetola
Ademola Adeleke has been removed as governor of Osun State by the constitutionally elected Governorship Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo.
The tribunal in a split document of two to one is declared that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, should withdraw the Certificate of Return issued to Adeleke and issued same to former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola
According to the majority ruling, which was read by the chairman, Justice Tertse Kume, Oyetola received the majority of legitimate votes—314,931—as opposed to Adeleke’s 290,266.
The minority judgement is ongoing.
