The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has extended the deadline for the use of old naira notes in Nigeria by ten days. the CBN governor, speaking to journalists Sunday morning, said he had President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval for the extension.He stated that the new deadline is now February 10th, rather than the previous deadline of January 31st.

Eight people including two children; a boy and a girl have died on Sunday, when a container fell on a commercial bus at Ojuelegba in Lagos. the Permanent Secretary, of Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said that the truck bearing the container lost control while climbing the bridge. He stated that, “Upon arrival at the scene, a truck conveying a 20ft container was found to have landed on top of a commercial bus.

Barely a few hours after Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje advised President Muhammadu Buhari against visiting his State, he has now rescinded his early decision, saying the President was now free to go ahead with his scheduled Monday visit to the State. He changed his mind after he led a delegation from the State to meet with President Buhari in his country home in Daura, Katsina State, on Sunday.

5. A Federal High Court in Abuja will on Monday (today) deliver judgment on a request seeking to stop the conduct of the forthcoming presidential election scheduled for February 25. The court will also decide whether to sack the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), over alleged illegalities in the 2019 presidential election. The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has condemned the silence of the Federal Government and the military since the death of over 40 pastoralists and butchers in Nasarawa State.
