BBREAKING: INEC Declares Fintiri Winner Of Adamawa Election 

INEC -The Independent National Electoral Commission has declared governor Ahmadu Fintiri the winner of Adamawa Governorship Election held on Saturday.

iexclusivenews reports that Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has won what some may describe as a drama-filled supplementary election in Adamawa State.

In last Saturday’s rerun, Fintiri, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), polled 9,337 votes totalling 430,861 votes.

While Senator Aishatu ‘Binani’ Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who scored 6,513, totalling 398,788 votes.

In the absence of Hudu Yunusa Ari, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) for Adamawa State, INEC concluded the collation of the supplementary election results on Tuesday.

The results of the Adamawa gubernatorial election were compiled for the third time by INEC officials. On March 20, INEC declared the Adamawa State election inconclusive due to the narrow margin of votes between the leading candidates.

“Elections did not take place in 47 wards, affecting 69 polling units.” As a result, we have a margin of 31,249. “The total number of PVCs collected in places where elections were not held was 37,016,” said Muhammad Mele, INEC’s returning officer in the state.

In an inconclusive collation process on Sunday, INEC rejected Binani’s declaration as Adamawa State governor-elect.

Fintiri will receive a certificate of return in the coming days.

Meanwhile, iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that INEC has asked the Inspector-General of Police to arrest and investigate Hudu Yunusa Ari, the Adamawa Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) who declared Binani winner on Sunday.
