In a shocking move, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has ordered the immediate suspension of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele.
iexclusivenews reports that according to a statement issued by Willie Bassey, a Director in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, on Friday night.
The suspension is based on the ongoing investigation of Emefiele’s office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.
However, the statement further directed Emefiele to hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate).
Who will act as the Central Bank Governor until the investigation and the reforms are concluded.
