Senate Shows Compassion to Kaduna Bombing Victims, Donates N109m

ABUJA, (iexclusivenews) – The Nigerian Senate, in a gesture of solidarity and empathy, has decided to donate N109 million to the survivors and families of the tragic bombing that occurred in Tudun Biri village in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The amount represents the collective salary of the senators for the month of December.

The Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau, announced the donation on Sunday, when he led a delegation of the Senate to pay a condolence visit to the Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, at the government house.

Barau expressed the Senate’s grief and sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and the devastation caused by the bombing.

iexclusivenews, reports that the Kaduna State Government had confirmed that the Nigerian Army was responsible for the accidental bombing of Tudun Biri village, which claimed the lives of at least 100 villagers two weeks ago.

The Army had reportedly mistaken the village for a terrorist hideout and dropped a bomb from a fighter jet.

The defence chief, who accompanied the Senate delegation, apologized for the incident and assured the governor and the people of Kaduna State that the Army would take all necessary measures to avoid such mistakes in the future.

He also said that the Army would cooperate with the state government in providing relief and rehabilitation to the affected community.
