Lagos DCP Found Dead In His House After Easter Celebration

OGBOMOSO, (iexclusivenews) – In a somber discovery that has shocked the community, DCP Gbolahan Oyedemi, a respected Deputy Commissioner of Police from the Lagos State Police Command, was found deceased in his private residence in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.

The incident occurred shortly after the Easter festivities, casting a shadow over the season’s celebrations.

A Dedicated Servant to the State

DCP Oyedemi was not only a high-ranking police official but also served as the Aide de Camp (ADC) to the late Governor Adebayo Alao Akala of Oyo State in 2006.

His commitment to public service was rooted in his origins from Ogbomoso town, where he was deeply respected and recognized as a native son.

The Final Visit

It was reported that DCP Oyedemi had traveled from Lagos to his hometown of Ogbomoso to partake in the Easter celebrations.

The joyous occasion, however, took a tragic turn when sources revealed to Leadership Newspaper that his lifeless body was discovered on Monday.

Circumstances of Passing

The circumstances surrounding his death are currently under speculation, with early reports suggesting the possibility of suicide.

“He had discharged his aides, encouraging them to enjoy the Easter with their families, which makes the news of his passing all the more shocking,” shared a former colleague who worked alongside DCP Oyedemi.

A Life of Independence

DCP Oyedemi was known to have lived with his mother in a house he built for her in the Randa area of Ogbomoso before moving to his own residence on Petros Academy Street in the Federal Lowcost area.

He led a private life, remaining unmarried and dedicated to his career.

Awaiting Official Statements

Repeated attempts to contact the spokesperson for the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, for comments have been unsuccessful.

As we report on this sensitive matter, we extend our thoughts to the family and friends of DCP Oyedemi.

If you or someone you know is struggling with thoughts of self-harm, we urge you to seek support from local resources or contact someone. Remember, you are not alone, and help is available.
