Peter Obi Calls For Action Over The Killings In Uzo-Uwani
iexclusivenews – The serene landscapes of Uzo Uwani, a local government area in Enugu State, were once again marred by violence over the weekend.
Reports have surfaced detailing a harrowing attack on innocent villagers, a continuation of a series of terror that has plagued this community for years.
As someone deeply connected to Uzo Uwani, these events strike a chord of profound disturbance within me.
My relationship with Uzo Uwani is not just one of affinity but of active support.
The area’s plight resonates with me, especially recalling the 2015 tragedy when Mater Amabilis Secondary School in Adani lost its hostel to a devastating fire.
Prompted by the urgency of the situation, I spearheaded the reconstruction efforts, ensuring the students had a hostel by March 2016.
Tragically, just a month later, the Nimbo Community of Uzo Uwani suffered a brutal attack that claimed many lives and captured the nation’s attention.
I stood in solidarity at the funeral, alongside former Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, offering solace and support to the bereaved and the survivors.

Peter Obi Calls For Action Over The Killings In Uzo-Uwani
The recurring violence in Uzo Uwani, a region pivotal to Enugu State’s agriculture, casts a long shadow over its future and food production.
The government’s commitment to the security of its citizens must be unwavering and visible.
Security agencies, aware of the area’s vulnerability, must adopt proactive measures to prevent further tragedies.
My heart extends to the families of Uzo Uwani who are mourning their loved ones, and to all those across our nation who suffer from insecurity.
I pray for eternal peace for the departed, a swift recovery for the injured, and healing for our land, which bleeds from the wounds of insecurity.
Together, we stand resilient, with a shared resolve to overcome these challenges. We shall conquer!
