iexclusive News Nigeria reports that State Governors will gather for an emergency meeting on Thursday.

 

The parley was called to deliberate COVID-19 vaccination and distribution in Nigeria.

 

Spokesman for the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Abdulrazaque Bello-Barkindo, said the meeting would be held virtually.

 

“The meeting is of a single-item agenda, which will discuss the delivery of the COVID-19 vaccines and their distribution in the country,” he confirmed.

 

Bello-Barkindo announced that the meeting, according to the invitation sent to the governors, would commence at 5 p.m.

 

The federal government received 3.92 million doses of Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine on Tuesday.

 

This online news medium recall that the COVID-19 vaccine was shipped into Nigeria via the COVAX Facility.

 

The partnership is between Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), GAVI – the Vaccine Alliance, United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and World Health Organization (WHO).
