Mikel Obi, the former captain of the Super Eagles, believes Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State is the best young man to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.

iexclusive News Nigeria report that Mikel, who plays for Stoke City in England, made the comment while paying the governor a courtesy call.

Nigeria has “come of age” to create a young leadership, according to the former Chelsea player.

Mikel also promised to back Bello’s political ambitions in the run-up to the 2023 presidential election.

He believes that young people should be given the opportunity to earn the much-needed change.

“Who’s better to lead the youths than him, because he has been doing so many good things, and that is why I am here to see if I can help.”
