9 die,16 Injured On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Crash – FRSC
An overloaded Mazda bus crashed on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Wednesday, killing 9 people and injuring 16.
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the accident, which involved an unregistered Volvo truck and a commercial Mazda bus, happened around 3.45 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Federal Road Safety Corps(FRSC) in Ogun state has confirmed the deaths of nine people in a two-vehicle accident on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Wednesday.
Mr. Ahmed Umar, Sector Commander of the FRSC in the state, stated that 16 other people were injured in varying degrees.
According to Umar, the accident happened around 3.45 p.m. near Wich Tech Company, near Danco Station on the ever-busy expressway.

According to him, the crash involved a commercial white Mazda bus with the registration number APP 28 YE and a blue Volvo truck with no number plate.

According to the sector commander, the accident involved 25 people, with nine killed and 16 injured.
He stated that the deceased’s bodies had been deposited at the morgue of Idera Hospital in Sagamu, while the survivors were being treated at the same facility.
According to Umar, the commercial bus driver’s speed violation and overloading were the causes of the accident.
He went on to say that the commercial bus lost control due to excessive speeding and collided with the truck.
The sector commander stated that the clearing of obstructions caused by the crash had begun by FRSC officials and other sister agencies.
He advised motorists to be patient and calm, as the situation in the axis would soon return to normal.
