Interpol Declares Gloria Osei, Husband Wanted For N1billion Investment Fraud

Gloria Igberaese and Muyiwa Folorunsho, a Nigerian couple, have been declared wanted

by Interpol for their role in a multi-million dollar investment scam.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the businessmen are believed to be the CEOs of Divergent Enterprise, which owns firms including Landlagos, PorkMoney, Hyberfactory, and Porkoyum, among others, which they allegedly exploited to defraud thousands of Nigerians via a series of Ponzi schemes.

The defendants, whose social media fame earned them the moniker ‘Bonnie and Clyde,’ reportedly scammed investors of N1 billion in one case.

“However, this money was transferred to personal use, including the acquisition of expensive homes and foreign citizenship,” victims said in a petition to federal authorities on January 21, 2021.

They are sought for acquiring money under false pretense and theft, according to separate warrants of arrest issued for them by the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court.

“He is sought by the police for acquiring money under false pretense, theft, and fund diversion,”

read a notice issued by the Nigeria Police Force’s Interpol department in Lagos, along with descriptions of their physical characteristics.

The documents go on to say, “If seen, arrest and give over to the nearest police station or the office of the commissioner of police Interpol Section Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex Alagbon Ikoyi Close, Lagos.”

The CEOs, who are reported to be a couple, came under fire on Twitter in 2019 when individuals claiming to be former workers accused them of fraud, creating a hostile work atmosphere, deducting from their wages, and dismissing them for minor infractions.

Ada, one of the suspected former workers, accused the pair of scamming consumers and concealing their marital status in public.

Mrs. Osei, on the other hand, denied ever mistreating any staff member in their defense.

“For those who are unhappy with my perceived treatment of them while working for me, I sincerely apologize, and I hope that as you start your own businesses, you will understand why some things, however unpleasant, are absolutely necessary if one is to survive as a business owner in Nigeria,” she wrote.

All charges of corruption were likewise refuted by the pair.

Following a petition filed by Chijioke Ukaegbu and other victims, they were proclaimed sought.

The petition against the suspect was handled by the intelligence research firm Sylnam Strategies.
