N-Power: FG To Enlist 400.000 More Youths For Batch C Progra
N-Power – The Federal Government announced yesterday that it had completed a plan to recruit an additional 400,000 youths for the country’s Batch C program.
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Sadiya Umar-Farouq, Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development, revealed the plan in Kano, saying the next stream is aimed at providing youths with life-long skills.
Farouq spoke at the closing ceremony for over 3,000 youths from the North-West zone trained in software and hardware skills as part of the N-Knowledge component of the N-Power program, who were represented by the ministry’s Deputy Director, Finance and Account, Muhammad Sambo.
“It is no longer breaking news that the President has approved the expansion of N-Power to accommodate one million beneficiaries.”
We have carefully implemented this, with N-Power Batch C1 housing 510,000 beneficiaries and Batch C2 starting soon. This is done in order to recruit more Nigerian youths for the program.
“It is a well-known fact that the N-Power program is a critical component of the National Social Investment Programmes housed in the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development (FMHADMSD) and designed to achieve the national objectives of poverty reduction and job creation,” she said.
