Elon Musk Promises To Eat Happy Meal On TV If McDonald’s Accepts Dogecoin

Elon Musk, the world’s richest person, is encouraging one of America’s oldest fast-food restaurant franchises, McDonald’s, to accept Dogecoin as payment for its meals in exchange for a promise to eat one of their most popular food combos, the McDonald’s Happy Meal.

Elon Musk is back on Twitter promoting Dogecoin, just weeks after his electric vehicle company, Tesla, began accepting the meme coin for the purchase of belt buckles, chargers, and other Tesla-related merchandise.

Elon Musk tweeted, “I will eat a happy meal on tv if @McDonalds accepts Dogecoin.”

Crypto prominent entrepreneurs and supporters were joined on Twitter by global fast-food giant McDonald”s.

The brand infamously linked with temporary Bitcoin (BTC) market crashes — who shared memes about doing odd jobs amid an ongoing market crash.

Since reaching an all-time high of $69,000 in November 2022, the price of BTC has been steadily declining.

As Bitcoin fell below $40,000, crypto millionaires and investors on Twitter began sharing memes about getting jobs at fast-food restaurants.

Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele, too, has embraced meme culture.

Uploading a new profile picture of himself wearing a poorly photoshopped McDonald’s branded cap and T-shirt during one of his speeches.

McDonald’s, like many others, acknowledged the ongoing developments within the Crypto Twitter community.

The account gained traction after tweeting:

While Binance responded with a picture of a crying face hidden behind a smiling mask.

McDonald’s consoled the world’s largest crypto exchange with a “warm,” short for “we are going to make it.”

Bukele, however, seems to have bigger plans in mind.

Bloomberg commodity strategist Mike McGlone believes in the possibility of BTC’s comeback as investors recognize its value as a digital reserve asset.

McGlone stated:

“Cryptos are tops among the risky and speculative. If risk assets decline, it helps the Fed’s inflation fight. Becoming a global reserve asset, Bitcoin may be a primary beneficiary in that scenario.”
