#TakeBackNaija: TBN Account Blocked By Federal Government – BNN Reports
TBN – A non-governmental organization involved in the election of suitable candidates for all executive offices in Nigeria, @TakeBackNaija_, has announced that the Federal Government (@NigeriaGov) has ‘unjustifiably blocked’ its account.
The youth-powered NGO, which has been at the forefront of the push for the candidacy of Labour Party (@NgLabour)’s Presidential candidate, @PeterObi, disclosed in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Danjuma Garba Musa, that the blocked account is a Keystone Bank account.
While it openly acknowledges its support for Peter Obi in the 2023 general elections, the group believes its actions and conducts have been lawful, describing the move to block its account as “political persecution, suppression, and intimidation from the powers that be.”
The statement reads in part, “TBN Global Leadership has been notified that its bank account with keystone Bank has been unjustifiably blocked by a government order.
“We see this development as an act of political persecution, suppression, and intimidation from the powers that be to stop this youth-driven grassroots movement from carrying out activities protected by the constitution.”
The group appealed to the relevant authorities to rescind its decision to block the NGO’s account as it urged members of the public, especially its donors, to keep faith with the group as it makes moves to unblock the said account.
