BREAKING: Portable Arrested By Police After 72-hour Ultimatum
Portable, real name (Habeeb Okikiola), has been detained by the Ogun State police command after initially refusing to accept an invitation from the police.
iexclusivenews recall that earlier Tuesday, two videos of the musician cursing and roughhousing a few Nigerian policemen appeared online.
Portable’s arrest is coming after the police gave a 72-hour ultimatum to the singer, which elapses today, Friday.
The police had condemned the singer’s actions also vowed to prosecute him.
Portable claimed that an internet fraudster had called the cops to his bar to arrest employees “for no reason.”
However, iexclusivenews Nigeria reports that the police stated that they were acting on a petition.
In a statement, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed that the singer had been arrested.
And was being held at the state police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Mr Oyeyemi went on to say that the Zazu crooner was arrested after turning down five invitations.
According to reports, the singer will remain in police custody until Monday, when he will be charged in court.
