Madonna’s Current Condition and Recovery

“Madonna suffered from a serious bacterial infection that resulted in a few days of ICU stay. She is getting better, but she still needs medical attention.” Oseary wrote on his Instagram account, along with a photo of Madonna on a hospital bed with an oxygen mask.

According to pagesix.com madonna-hospitalized-due-to-bacterial-infection Madonna was on a ventilator for a day at the ICU, but then she was able to breathe on her own. She is still in the hospital, with her daughter Lourdes Leon by her side.

The Reason Behind Madonna’s Celebration Tour

Oseary also announced that Madonna will have to take a break from her work for some time, as she recovers from the infection. This means that her upcoming Celebration Tour, which was scheduled to start on July 15 this year and end on January 30, 2024, will be delayed.

The Celebration Tour was planned to commemorate Madonna’s 40 years of success in the music industry. The tour was supposed to visit 84 venues around the world, but now the dates will have to be rescheduled according to Madonna’s health situation.

The Queen of Pop’s Previous Health Issues and Injuries

This is not the first time that Madonna has faced health problems that affected her tours. In October 2019, she postponed a show in New York city due to a knee injury. She also canceled several shows in Boston in the following months.

In 2020, she had to call off another show in Lisbon, Portugal, because of the “pain from her ongoing injuries”. That same year, she tested positive for COVID-19 in March, during her Madame X tour.

She later revealed that she and her crew had been sick in Paris seven weeks before her diagnosis, but they thought it was just a normal flu.

Madonna recovered from COVID-19 quickly, but her knee injuries continued to bother her. In a deleted post from 2020, she expressed her frustration and sadness: “If only knees didn’t twist and cartilage didn’t tear and nothing hurt and tears never fell out of our eyes. But alas they do”

She also shared that she had fallen on stage and injured her tailbone. After the Madame X tour ended, she sought treatment for her “missing cartilage”.

Extra TV reported that Madonna underwent a hip replacement surgery to deal with the chronic pain in her lower body after years of performing and touring.
