Ebonyi Workers Receive N100,000 Christmas Bonus from Gov. Nwifuru

(iexclusivenews) – As the festive season approaches, civil servants in Ebonyi and Rivers States have a reason to smile. Their governors, Francis Nwifuru and Siminalayi Fubara, have generously approved a Christmas bonus of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000) for each of them.

This is a remarkable gesture that reflects the governors’ appreciation of their workers’ dedication and service.

In addition to the cash bonus, which is nearly three times the national minimum wage, the workers will also receive a bag of rice to enjoy with their families and friends.

Gov. Nwifuru made this announcement on Thursday at the launch of the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI), a pet project of Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.

The initiative is aimed at empowering women, youth and vulnerable groups across the country with a focus on five key areas of agriculture, education, economic empowerment, health and social investment.

Gov. Nwifuru praised Senator Oluremi Tinubu for her visionary leadership and compassion, and assured the people of Ebonyi that he would not let them down.

He said: “It is not easy, but the workers of this state deserve to celebrate like everyone else during this festive season.”

Gov. Nwifuru encouraged the beneficiaries to share their joy and blessings with their loved ones and neighbours.

He further stated: “As the leader of this state, I have a responsibility to make a positive difference in the lives of everyone in this state. I am not doing this with my personal money. I am using the state’s money, which I was elected to manage wisely.”

Gov. Nwifuru explained that he had consulted with the caucus and the principal officers of the government to ensure that the Ebonyi workers in the state are rewarded for their hard work.

His announcement was well received by the audience at the event, which was held at the ecumenical centre in Abakaliki.

Ebonyi State is one of the smallest states in Nigeria, but it is rich in natural resources such as salt, lead, zinc and limestone.

It was created in 1996 from parts of Abia and Enugu States, and has its capital and largest city in Abakaliki.

Whether the governors’ actions are motivated by genuine concern or political calculations, one thing is clear: the workers will have a merry Christmas.
