Ex-President Obasanjo Refutes Death Rumors, Calls for Accountability, Praises Governor Adeleke’s Achievements

iexclusivenews – Ex-President Obasanjo has firmly dismissed the rumors of his death circulating on social media, confirming that he is very much alive. Speaking at the commissioning of the Old-Garage-Oke-Fia-Lameco road by Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, Obasanjo expressed his shock and disappointment over the deeply upsetting reports.

During his remarks, Ex-President Obasanjo, speaking in Yoruba, questioned the motives behind such harmful speculation. He said, “I heard the rumour that I was dead. I saw it on social media. I quickly told my children and my relations that it was not true and that I was alive. Those who want me dead, that is their wish but God still keeps me alive.”

Obasanjo further expressed his dismay at the extent to which some people misuse technology to spread false information. “Why would anyone wish me dead? Those who harbour such thoughts will not escape tragedy themselves. This kind of rumour is not only disturbing but shows the extent to which some people misuse technology. It is unacceptable,” he stated.

Praise for Governor Adeleke

Taking the opportunity to commend Governor Adeleke for his achievements in Osun State, Ex-President Obasanjo predicted his re-election for a second term. “When he came on board some people ridiculously said he has nothing to offer except to dance but he has shown them that he is a good dancer and also a good performer. Governor Adeleke has delivered for the people of Osun, and I believe they will support him again,” he added.

Governor Adeleke’s Commitment to Infrastructure:

Speaking at the event, Governor Adeleke reaffirmed his government’s commitment to improving the state’s infrastructure. He said, “My dear people of Osun State, our administration has constructed over 120 kilometres of roads across the state. Two major flyovers are also progressing to completion at Osogbo while works are progressing at the Ile-Ife flyover and Ilesa dualisation.”

Governor Adeleke also highlighted the ongoing efforts to complete the Iwo-Osogbo Road and the dualisation of Odoori-Adeeke Road inside Iwo. “We have added the dualisation of Odoori-Adeeke Road inside Iwo to be executed in two phases. The first phase will reach the Post Office and the Oluwo Palace, while the second phase will take off from the Post Office to Adeeke Junction,” he explained.

Financial Prudence and Future Plans:

Governor Adeleke emphasized that all projects and programmes were executed without obtaining any loans. “I want our people to note for the record that for all our projects and programmes, we did not obtain any loan. We only block leakages in the state’s finances and employ local content to moderate project costs and enforce high standards,” he said.

Looking ahead, Governor Adeleke reassured the people of Osun State that his administration would complete all ongoing projects and continue to address the infrastructure and social needs of the state. “For the second half of our government, I reassure all sons and daughters of Osun State that the government under my leadership will complete all ongoing projects. We will continue to address the infra and social needs of our people. We will strike a balance between hard and soft infrastructure,” he concluded..
