Black Panther: Rihanna Drops Second Wakanda Forever Single “Born Again”

Rihanna released “Born Again” for the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as we were still reeling from the range of emotions sparked by her first song in six years, “Lift Me,” written for the film.

iexclusivenews reports that the song is co-written by Rihanna and The Dream alongside James Fauntleroy and composer Ludwig Göransson.

The song, like its predecessor, is s olemn and sounds like an ode to maintaining one’s strength and making sacrifices for love.

“I’d give my heart to this place, my soul, whatever it takes, but I’d never run away.” “I’ve got enough angels to storm the gates, I’m not afraid,” the ballad says, accompanied by layered orchestral music.

The song also pays tribute to the cast, crew, and friends who lost actor Chadwick Boseman to colon cancer:

“And behold the brave, not have it any other way.” I’m missing your emergence and these moments with you.”

The song, like “Lift Me,” pays homage to the entire film, the loss suffered, and the future to come.

The internet exploded when it was revealed that Rihanna is making her musical comeback with the Wakanda Forever single.

Rihanna also confirmed that she wrote the song in memory of the late Boseman, which adds to its significance.

Ryan Coogler, the film’s director, revealed that the team was looking for someone who could “embodies it thematically.”

And, given that the legendary singer is juggling multiple roles in her life, she seemed like the ideal choice.

“We knew she was at a point in her life as well where she was focusing on different things — focused on business, motherhood, which is a big theme in our film,” the director said.

Wakanda Forever, unlike any other Marvel film, has a wide range of emotions to convey.

The film deals with loss, grief, and the rebirth of hope, as well as looking forward.
