BREAKING: Emir Of Kontagora Dies At 84
Alhaji Saidu Umaru Namaska, the Emir of Kontagora, Niger State, has died.
iexclusive News Nigeria reports that the Sarkin Sudan of Kontagora, who died at the age of 84, reigned for 47 years.
His death is unknown, but according to Daily Trust, the king died in an Abuja hospital.
The family and palace have not released an official announcement, but a source verified the monarch’s death.
The Emir died three months after his son was killed by robbers during a raid on the monarch’s property.
The deceased’s son, Alhaji Bashar Saidu Namaska, was on the farm along Zuru road in Kontagora Local Government Area when the robbers attacked.
Other persons who worked with him were alleged to have been killed, and an unknown number of cows were rustled.
When his father was unwell, the late Bashar, who was the Sardauna of Kontagora, held forth for him.
