Champion Newspapers names Fidelity CEO Banker of the Year

Champion Newspapers has named the CEO of Fidelity Bank Banker of the Year

At the Champion Newspapers’ Awards of the Year 2022, Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Fidelity Bank Plc, was named Banker of the Year 2022.

Leading figures from the country’s public and private sectors participated in the well-attended event, which took place on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Eko Hotel and Suites.

In front of her loved ones, friends, and coworkers, Mrs. Onyeali-Ikpe accepted her award and said: “I am grateful for this recognition and I dedicate this award to the board, management, and staff of Fidelity Bank PLC, as well as my family, for their support.”

Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, the occasion’s Chairman and Director General of the National Council for Arts and Culture, said earlier in the programme that mediocrity would not be tolerated promoted if integrity and diligence are not acknowledged.

The recipients of the awards, he continued, “have without a doubt undergone a rigorous screening process, careful and meticulous scrutiny to be adjudged fit, proper in all ramifications.” They are worthy of these prestigious awards as a result.

There is no denying that the reward for hard work is more work, which is why Dr. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa, Group Managing Director, Champion Newspapers, urged more efforts to be made to ensure that the nation realises its full potential in all spheres of endeavour, knowing full well that the nation is among the most endowed nations in terms of human capital.

Other honorees at the ceremony included the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brigadier-General Mohamed Buba Marwa (ret. ), who received the Man of the Year Award; Chief Ayo Adebanjo of the Afenifere; Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the Governor of Lagos State; and Ademola Adeleke, the Governor of Osun State; who was given the Life Achievement Award.

At the 14th Leadership Annual, Mrs. Onyeali-Ikpe was presented with the Banker of the Year 2022 award. The Best Banking CEO Nigeria 2023 will be honoured at the 2023 Global Banking & Finance Awards in April 2023 after a conference and awards ceremony in January 2023. The top ten female finalists for the Africa.com Awards included her in their list. The Complete List of Women Directors of companies (CEOs).
