…“I dare anyone to name a central leader of bandits in the same position as Kanu.”…

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has stated that bandits or Boko Haram terrorists cannot be equated to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that following Kanu’s arrest, some critics of the Federal Government claimed that the Buhari administration was praising bandits.

They also urged that the Federal Government apprehend bandits as soon as possible.

However, in an interview with BBC Pidgin, El-Rufai stated that comparing bandits to Kanu is incorrect.

When asked if Boko Haram and bandits should be addressed with the same zeal that resulted in Kanu’s arrest, El-Rufai responded, “No! No! No! No!” People are making apples and oranges comparisons.

“IPOB, a prohibited organization, is led by Nnamdi Kanu. He is easily identified, in regular communication, and everyone knows where he is at all times.

“Take, for example, Boko Haram. Shekau had been in hiding for the past ten years, and the military had been conducting a war to apprehend him.

“It’s not like Shekau was sitting in Saudi Arabia, tweeting about Nigeria’s disintegration or ordering Boko Haram to assassinate Helen and Nasir El-Rufai.

“Nnamdi Kanu is in one location, while Shekau is engaged in guerrilla fighting in another. The insurrection continues, and the Federal Government will not give up.

“In terms of bandits, they are not centralized under a single leadership. Who is the bandits’ leader? Who is the bandit equivalent of Nmandi Kanu?

“Bandits are simply groups of autonomous criminals. For them, it’s all about the money. It is not the case that Nigeria must be disbanded.
