Eminent Nigerian patriots and champions for a greater Nigeria are set to attend the second edition of the ‘Handshake Across Nigeria’ summit in Enugu on Friday.

The event, organized by a group of Igbo Think Tank, Nzuko Umunna, will be co-chaired by elder statesman and Chairman. Elders Council of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, and HRM Prof James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, Tor Tiv.

South-East Governors to Attend Igbo Summit in Enugu

The five governors of the South-East states will be led by their chairman, Chief David Umahi of Ebonyi State, to the programme.

HRH Amb Igwe Lawrence Agubuzu, Chairman South East Council of Traditional Rulers. And HRM Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe, the Obi of Onitsha, will also be present as royal fathers of the day.

Elder Statesmen and Traditional Rulers to Co-chair Event

Other personalities expected at the event include Chief Edwin Clark, leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF); his Afenifere counterpart, Chief Ayo Adebanjo; President, Middle Belt Forum (MBF), Dr Pogu Bitrus; and Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Amb. Okey Emuchay. The Sultan of Sokoto, HRM Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ adu Abubakar, and HRM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, will also be in attendance.

Keynote Speaker and Guest Speakers Announced

Legal luminary, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, will deliver the keynote on the theme: “Building bridges for a new Nigeria.”

While the guest speakers are Dr Hakeem Baba Ahmed, spokesman of Northern Elders Forum. Dr Regina Amadi Njoku, Senator Shehu Sani, and Iba Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of the Yoruba Nation.

“Handshake Across Nigeria” Dedicated to Building Bridges and Cementing Bonds

The “Handshake Across Nigeria” project aims to expand friendships and cement bonds between Ndigbo and other nationalities of Nigeria.

It seeks to raise the decibel of Nigeria’s strength in diversities as a great heritage for its desired unity and development.

The Handshake Across Nigeria summit hopes to create an avenue for various ethnic groups in Nigeria to come together.

It’s a call for unity, progress, and a better Nigeria.

The summit is a continuation of the first edition held in 2018. It aims to continue promoting inter-ethnic relationships and finding ways to tackle Nigeria’s many challenges.
