Eyitayo Jegede Breaks Silence Over Supreme Court Judgement

Eyitayo Jegede, the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate in the Ondo State governorship election on October 10, 2020, commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his Supreme Court victory.

iexclusive News Nigeria reports that Jegede while thanking his supporters for their perseverance since the legal fireworks began at the Tribunal, remarked that the conclusion of the Judgment should not “discourage good and well-intentioned individuals from seeking for leadership in our State and Country.””

The PDP and its candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, filed an appeal against Akeredolu’s election, which was dismissed by the Supreme Court on Wednesday in a four-to-three decision.

Despite the fact that the judgment did not favor him or his party, the PDP candidate maintained his faith in the judiciary.

“We appreciate the tremendous support we’ve received from the PDP’s national and state leadership, as well as the general membership of the party. Gratitude history will evaluate our governors who offered the necessary leadership and remained committed to our goal.

“Our regard and veneration for the judiciary and our supreme court justices has not waned as a result of this decision.”
