FG Gives Mikel Obi A New Job
FG has named John Mikel Obi, former Super Eagles captain Nigerian Youth Ambassador.
iexclusive News Nigeria report that this was revealed on Friday at a ceremony attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, at the National Stadium in Lagos.
Mikel Obi was praised by the Minister as a “role model whose lasting legacies in football development have continued to have a beneficial impact on youngsters in the country,” according to John Joshua-Akanji, Special Adviser to Dare on Media.
Mikel Obi has been guaranteed of FG backing if he decides to invest in Nigeria.
“I’m afraid I won’t be able to discuss much about Mikel’s football success due to time constraints.
He is a legend and a role model who has had a great impact on the lives of young people.
“It is my pleasure to designate you to the position of Nigeria Youth Ambassador. It’s a new portfolio, and Nigerians will learn about your job as a youth ambassador,” Dare explained.
“I am pleased to be a part of this relationship, and I pledge to do everything in my power to promote and inspire adolescents to participate in national development programs, not just in football but in other sports such as basketball and boxing, among others.”
“I am incredibly proud to be nominated as the Youth Ambassador of this country, it is a great feeling,” Mikel Obi stated in his reaction.
