Former Miss Grand Ukraine Joins War Against Russian Invasion

Former Miss Grand Ukraine Anastasia Lenna has traded her high heels for combat boots, joining the Ukrainian military in its fight against the Russian invasion.

According to her Instagram account, Anastasia Lenna, Ukraine’s 2015 Miss Grand International beauty contest delegate, has answered the call to defend her homeland.

“Everyone who crosses the Ukrainian border with the purpose to invade will be killed!” declared one English-language post on Saturday, beside a photograph of armed soldiers blocking a route.

Another post joked that “Our [Ukraine’s] army is fighting in such a way that NATO should apply for entry into Ukraine.”

She also uploaded a photo of soldiers walking with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, whom she described as “a true and powerful leader” to her 75,000 followers.

The model has been posting on her Instagram account since the invasion began on Wednesday, rallying support and asking funds for the Ukrainian military forces.

Anastasia Lenna, a former Miss Grand Ukraine, has proclaimed that she will join Ukraine’s struggle against Russian invaders.

The marketing and management graduate from Slavistik University in Kyiv has posted several photos on her page in the past showing her wielding airsoft guns in full military garb in wooded areas for sport.

She now appears to be using lead bullets instead of plastic pellets.

According to her Miss Grand International profile, she had previously worked as a model and public relations manager in Turkey, a far cry from the battlefield bloodshed. She has also worked as a translator and speaks five languages.

Despite significant Russian military attacks, Ukrainian forces have successfully defended their cities.

So far, Ukraine’s tough resistance has held off the Russian advance, with no major cities captured and thousands of Russian troops killed.
