Fulani Herdsmen Attack Enugu Community
In the early hours of Monday, an unspecified number of residents of Enugu State’s Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area were attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
iexclusive News Nigeria gathered that the victims were reportedly on their way to the market when they were attacked at Opanda, near Uzo-Uwani, with many of them in critical condition.
Some of the victims may have died, according to unconfirmed sources.
The patients were brought to Bishop Shanahan Hospital in Nsukka, where they were directed to the National Orthopedic Hospital in Enugu, according to a source.
The police have yet to publish a statement regarding the attack.
As of the time of posting this article, DAILY POST had not received a response to an inquiry addressed to the Enugu Police Command’s spokesman, ASP Daniel Ndukwe.
A similar attack occurred a few years ago in Nimbo, in the same council area, which resulted in the deaths of many people.
